Water Softener Troubleshooting Guide
Watch for the water level in the salt keeper. A high level
of water could mean that there is a problem with your water softener. Contact
Mettert's WaterCare immediately if you notice that the level of water in the
salt keeper is higher than normal.
Make sure that your water softener's timer is set properly.
If the timer is set incorrectly, the water softener may regenerate during
inconvenient times.
Let your salt keeper get low before adding more salt. If you
add new salt on top of the old salt, the old salt will not dissolve properly,
leading to a clog in your water softening system.
After cleaning a salt keeper, be sure to add three gallons
of water before restarting the water softener.
