Water Softener Troubleshooting Guide

  • Watch for the water level in the salt keeper. A high level of water could mean that there is a problem with your water softener. Contact Mettert's WaterCare immediately if you notice that the level of water in the salt keeper is higher than normal.

  • Make sure that your water softener's timer is set properly. If the timer is set incorrectly, the water softener may regenerate during inconvenient times.

  • Let your salt keeper get low before adding more salt. If you add new salt on top of the old salt, the old salt will not dissolve properly, leading to a clog in your water softening system.

  • After cleaning a salt keeper, be sure to add three gallons of water before restarting the water softener.

Mettert's WaterCare is located at 120 Ensley Ave., Auburn, IN, 46706.
